Your Aruba, not everyone’s
The Aruba sign comes with the top Aruba sign plus five beaches: Palm Beach, Eagle Beach, Baby Beach, Druif Beach and Arashi Beach.
But a lot of people want at least one swapped. The resort they’ve stayed at for fifteen years. The bar where the bartender knows their name. The stretch of sand they walk every morning at seven.

It looks weathered because it is
I could buy new lumber. It would be faster and a lot less work. But new wood looks new, and you can always tell — the fake-distressed signs in home stores have sanded-on scratches and printed-on “age.”
Mine doesn’t need any of that. I reclaim every board myself, mostly from pallets I track down around town and break apart by hand, pulling out every nail. That wood already spent years outside before it ever reached my shop. The grey in the grain is real. So are the knots, the nail holes, and the splits where the boards decided to go their own way.
Then it gets cut, sanded, hand-stenciled, painted, distressed and sealed with spar urethane. The posts are treated lumber, ripped down and painted to match.
No two are the same, and none of them look like they came out of a box.
It started with one sign
A customer asked me to make her a directional sign with her favorite beaches in Aruba. I’d never made one before. I built it, shipped it, and she posted a photo of it in an Aruba group on Facebook.
Needed something in my yard that reminded me of my favorite place on earth. Had this custom made. Love it!!

Hi, I’m Tim. I make every one of these myself — no staff, no factory. When you message this page, you’re talking to the person who’s going to reclaim the wood, cut it, paint it and pack it. I’ll send you photos before it ships.
I’ve never been much of a salesman. I’d rather just build you something good.

- How long does it take?
- About a week for the standard sign. Two to four weeks if you’re swapping beaches.
- What does shipping cost?
- Nothing, anywhere in the continental US.
- Can you ship to Canada?
- Yes, I’ve done it several times. Message me and I’ll quote it.
- Can you ship to Aruba, or to Europe?

- Can I order one as a gift?
- Plenty of my favorites have been gifts. Message me and I’ll help you get the places right, and I can ship it straight to them.
- Do I have to dig a hole for the post?
- You don’t have to. Plenty of people sink it in the garden, but it also drops straight into a patio umbrella table base, which is handy if you rent or want to bring it in over winter.
- Can I put my resort on it?
- Yes. Swap any of the five beaches for the places that matter to you.
- Will it hold up outside?
- It’s sealed with spar urethane and built for outdoors. Full sun will soften the colors over a few years — somewhere with afternoon shade keeps them brightest.
- How big is it?
- The top Aruba sign is about 5.5″ × 11″. Each beach arrow is roughly 3.25″ × 17.5″. On the post it stands 5 feet tall.
